WINDOWS SERVER 2016 – GOING IT ALONE…

imageJust read an excellent post from Aaron Silber on the future of Citrix and Windows Server 2016.   In a nutshell, Aaron points out that the new Windows Server 2016 version 1709 seems to be a return to the Server Core Edition of the past.  For most of us using Citrix, VMware and other 3rd party applications, this means no Desktop Experience or Explorer.exe will be available.  Just a Command Line operating system. (aka Microsoft Linux).  This also means, most of you won’t be updating to it. Winking smile You can read all the details in Aaron’s post on his blog RaceCarOnRails.   I’d recommend while you are there, subscribe via email to his blog and get all of these goodies delivered right to your inbox.
