VMware vSphere 6.0 END OF General Support

The world might be ending but you still need to upgrade.

If you are still running vSphere 6.0, your TIME IS UP! As of March 12th, VMware is ending support for all vSphere 6.0 Products including vCenter, ESXi and Site Recovery Manager. This last one (SRM), is a real issue for some of you. 🙂

If you haven’t upgraded to 6.7 yet, start your migration plans soon. Upgrading vSphere to 6.7 will probably also involve migrating your vCenter to an Appliance. If you are still on 6.0, I don’t think you ever got around to migrating from the Windows vCenter to the appliance. [Spoiler alert] The appliance version is way better. After the upgrade, NO MORE FAT client! 🙂 It was deprecated with 6.7 and you will have to use the HTML client. Don’t even bother getting used to the Flash client since it is going away soon enough. (although not soon enough if you ask me)

Upgrading Site Recovery Manager

If you need help upgrading your SRM to 8.x. You can find all the notes here.

Upgrading your outdated vSphere 6.0 systems now will extend your support to November 15th, 2021.

Happy Upgrading!
